MANAGING BEREAVEMENT

Caring for the dying is a task that falls to many – sometimes for an elderly relative, sometimes professionally in a Care Home, Hospital or Hospice.  In every case the dignity of the patient, and respect for their wishes and religion, must be guarded.  There will also be bereaved relatives to comfort, and sometimes the loss can cause problems with friends, relatives and other patients.

Summary: This course takes students through a workbook to consider issues regarding the final stages of life (including palliative care),  actions immediately following the death, and helping the bereaved.
