FIRST AID FOR APPOINTED PERSONS IN THE WORKPLACE
Under Health & Safety legislation every business should have on their staff an Appointed Person, whose responsibilities include keeping the First Aid Kit properly stocked. The "Appointed Persons" First Aid course is designed for these staff, as it qualifies them as proper First Aiders and provides a full 3-year certificate.
Summary: This course includes incident management, casualty assessment, and the priorities of life support including the importance of continuing oxygen supplies to the body. Students are taught the Recovery Position, Rescue Breaths, and practice CPR using a dummy. The course also covers choking and abdominal thrusts, the management of wounds, Minor and Major bleeding, sprains and dislocations, and managing Shock.
